Towel Topper
This is another view
Material : Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn ( we call it "Poor Cotton", but a yarn like "Sugar&Cream should be good), color A=orange, B = Light Green, Hook no.4 (US=G/6); a towel you may want to give a look to my virtual store if you need materials.
Stitches :ch, sc, hdc
Difficulty: easy (a little sewing required)
Directions
Start with A, 3 ch
1. skip 2 ch, 2 hdc on next ch; 2 ch, turn.
2. 2 hdc inserting the hk in ea space between the hdcs on Row 1 => 4 hdc; 2 ch, turn
3. (2 hdc) = grp between next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in ea of two following spaces (in between the grp in row 2 and in initial 2-ch sp) => 6 hdc. 2 ch, turn
4.a grp in first grp, a grp in next 3 spaces; 2 ch, join B
5.-8 With B, like Rows 1-4, incrementing a grp ea row
9-12.With A like Rows 1-4, incrementing a grp ea row
13-16.With B, like Rows 1-4, incrementing a grp ea row
17..With A, sk in bk loop only of ea st; 1 ch, turn
18. sc in ea sc; 1 ch, turn
19 sc in ea sc. Cut yarn
With B, join thread in Row 17, sc in front loop of ea st; 1 ch, turn. Follow with 2 rows of sc. You will have a opening.
Edge
sc border all around, 5 ch on tip to form buttonhole
Sew the towel in the opening shaped in rows 17-19
