Comments: a small doily crocheted with a very fine thread. It is not difficult, if you have problems try with a bigger thread. Hint: if you want a larger doily, you can try repating Rows 6-10 twice more (but you have to increase the size of archs)

Size :7" (18 cm.) diameter

Material :Pearl cotton # 16, hook 0.90 mm (Boye steel #12), color ecru; you can substitute with Cebelia #40 or equivalent cordonnet thread (but the gauge can slightly vary); you may want to give a look to my virtual store if you need materials.

Stitches :ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc,tr, dcl = 3-dc cluster = 3 dc closed together in same st/sp, tcl = tr cluster=3 dc closed together in same st/sp, picot = 3 ch, sc in last st made

Start with 8 ch, join with sl st in first ch

1. *hdc in lp, 1 ch*; Repeat * to * 11 times, join with sl st to first st.

2. *dcl in next sp, 2 ch*; Repeat * to * 11 times, join with sl st to first st.

3.*3 sc in next 2-ch sp*; Repeat * to * 11 times, join with sl st to first st.

4. *dc, 3 ch, sk a sc*; Repeat * to * all around, join with sl st to first st.

5. *tcl in next sp, 4 ch*; Repeat * to * all around, join with sl st to first st.

6. *5 sc in next sp*; Repeat * to * all around, join with sl st to first st.

7.* dc in next sc, 2 ch, sk a sc*; Repeat * to * all around, join with sl st to first st.

N.B.

• Always substitute (also if not explicitly said) first st in a row as follows:
  • first sc with 1 ch, sc;
  • first hdc with 2 ch;
  • first dc with 3 ch;
  • first tr with 4 ch...and so on;
• When you read "sl st to <location>", where the location is not immediately contiguous to last st, this means of course "an appropriate number of sl sts for reaching <location>".
• Also if I do not specify it, if you lasted prev row on a st (say st1), while you must start next row in another st (say st2), make an appropriate number of sl sts to reach st2.
