THE NAME OF THE ROSE
Filet Doily
Another view (with my thread cutter to better show the size)
Comments: A rose is a rose is a rose...and this is a simple rose surrounded by an easy border.
The sample for this doily is crocheted with FILET #1
Size : 7 1/2 inches
Material :Cebelia 10, hook 1.15; you may want to give a look to my virtual store if you need materials.
Stitches : ch, sc, dc, picot = 3 ch, sc on last st made, sh = shell = (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in same sp
Difficulty: medium
Directions
Start with 8 ch.
Row 1.Dc in 8th ch from hook (7 chs = 2 ch + dc + 2 ch): 1 empty square
Rows 2-38 . Proceed following the diagram. (If the previous link does not work, click here )
Use oblique increasing technique for increasing rows 2-19 and for decreasing rows 20-38. At the end of row 38, do not cut thread; crochet the edging
Edge:
1. sl st in next sp, *(4 ch, sc in next sp)*; Repeat * to * all around; Join with sl st in first st.
2. shell in ea sp all around, 3 dc in corners; Join with sl st in first st
3. (shell in shell) along sides, (dc on next dc, 1 ch) 3 times in corners; Join with sl st in first st.
4.(shell in shell) along sides, (2 dc on next dc, 1 ch) 3 times in corners; Join with sl st in first st.
5 (dc, picot, dc) in shells along sides; [2 dc on next dc, dc on next dc, picot, (dc on next dc) 2 times, picot, dc on next dc, 2 dc on next dc] in corners; Join with sl st in first st. Cut thread.
N.B. Substitute first dc with 3 ch; for a filet primer, with increase and decrease explanations, go here
