Comments: Yet another pineapple pattern! This one is very suitable both for a coaster than for a square motif

Size : 5 x 5 inches

Material :Pearl cotton # 8, hook 1.15 mm (Boye steel #11); you can substitute with Cebelia #20 or equivalent cordonnet thread (but the gauge can slightly vary)

Stitches :ch, sl st, sc, dc, tr, 3-tcl=3-tr cluster= 3 tr crocheted in the same sp and closed together

Difficulty: easy/medium

Directions

Start with 6 ch, join

1. *3-tcl in lp, 6 ch* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

2. *sc on next cluster, 3 ch, 7 tr in next loop, 3 ch* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

3. sl st to first tr, *(tr on next tr, 1 ch) 6 times, tr on last tr, 5 ch* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

4. *(sc in next 1-ch sp, 3 ch)6 times, 4 tr in next 5-ch lp, 3 ch* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

5. *(sc in next 1-ch sp, 3 ch) 4 times, sc on last sp, 2 ch, (2 dc on next tr) 4 times, 2 ch* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

6. *(sc in next 1-ch sp, 3 ch) 3 times, sc on last sp, 2 ch, [(2 dc on next dc) 2 times, 2 ch] 4 times* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

7. *(sc in next 1-ch sp, 3 ch) twice, sc on last sp, 2 ch, (2 dc on next dc, dc on next dc, 2 ch) 4 times, * ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

8. *(sc in next sp, 3 ch) twice, [dc on next dc, 2 dc on next dc, dc on next dc, 3 ch] 4 times* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

9. *sc in next sp, 4 ch, [(tr in next dc) 4 times, 4 ch] 4 times* ; Repeat from * to * 4 times ; join with sl st in first st.

10. *(5 tr, 2 ch, 5 tr) in next sc, sk 3 tr, sc in last tr, 10 dc in next sp, sc in next tr* ; Repeat from * to * all around ; join with sl st in first st. Cut thread, weave in ends.

N.B.

• Substitute ever (also if not explicitly said) first st in a row as follows:
• first sc with 1 ch, sc;
• first hdc with 2 ch;
• first dc with 3 ch;
• first tr with 4 ch...and so on;
• When you read "sl st to <location>", where the location is not immediately contiguous to last st, this means of course "an appropriate number of sl sts for reaching <location>".
• Also if I do not specify it, if you lasted prev row on a st (say st1), while you must start next row in another st (say st2), make an appropriate number of sl sts to reach st2.
