Classic but with a creativity touch due to the flowered border....I hope you like it!

Size : ?

Material : Pearl cotton # 8, hook 1.1 mm (US steel #10); you can substitute with Cebelia #20 or equivalent cordonnet thread (but the gauge can slightly vary)

Stitches : ch, sl st, sc, dc, tr, cluster (= 3 dc closed together worked in same st) .

Difficulty: medium.

Directions

Start with 7 ch, join with sl st

1. 4 ch, 1 tr in lp, 3 ch, *2 tr in lp, 3 ch*; Repeat 6 times more, join with sl st to first st. => 8 lps

2. * 6 sc in next lp *; Repeat * to * 7 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>48 sc

3. *2 dc in next sc, (dc in next sc) 5 times*; Repeat * to * 7 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>56 dc

4. * 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc) 6 times*; Repeat * to * 7 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>64 dc

5. *dc in next dc, 2 ch, sk next dc*; Repeat * to * 31 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>32 lps

6. * 3 sc in next lp *; Repeat * to * 31 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>96 sc.

7. * 2 dc in next sc, (dc in next sc) 5 times*; Repeat * to * 15 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>112 dc

8. *tr in next dc, 2 ch; sk next dc, tr in next dc, 8 ch, sk 6 dc, sc in next dc, 8 ch, sk 6 dc*; Repeat * to * 6 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>14 lps

9. sl st in first 2-ch sp, * 3 dc in 2-ch sp, 8 ch, 3 dc on sc, 8 ch*; Repeat * to * 6 times more, join with sl st to first st.

10. sl st in 2nd dc, *(dc on next dc) 2 times, 2 dc on next ch, dc in next ch, 8 ch, sk next dc, (dc on next dc)2 times, 2 dc on next ch, dc on next ch, 8 ch*; Repeat * to * 6 times more, join with sl st to first st.

15. sl st in first sp,*sc in next sp, 6 ch, sc in same sp, 6 ch, sc in next sc, 6 ch, sc in next sp, 6 ch, sc in same sp, 6 ch*; Repeat * to * all around, finish with 2 ch, dc in first sc. =>70 lps

16. 4 ch, tr in next lp, *8 ch, tr not closed in next sp, tr closed with previous in next sp*; Repeat * to * 34 times more, join with sl st to first st. =>35 lps

17. *dc on tr, 9 tr in next sp*; Repeat *to* all around, join with sl st to first st.

18. *[cluster in dc, 3 ch, (cluster pointing in head of first cluster, 3 ch) 4 times] (flower done), 3 ch, sk 4 dc, sc in next dc, 3 ch *; Repeat *to* all around, join with sl st to first st. cut thread.

N.B.

Always substitute (also if not explicitly said) first st in a row as follows:
- first sc with 1 ch, sc;
- first hdc with 2 ch;
- first dc with 3 ch;
- first tr with 4 ch...and so on
When you read "sl st to <location>", where the location is not immediately contiguous to last st, this means of course "an appropriate number of sl sts for reaching <location>".
