The sample for this runner is crocheted with filet#2
Size : 68 cm (27 inches) x 17 cm (7 inches) tassel
not included.
Material : Pearl cotton # 8, hook 1.25 mm (Bates
steel #9); you can substitute with Cebelia #20 or equivalent cordonnet thread
(but the gauge can slightly vary)
Difficulty: Medium
Directions
Start with 19 ch.
Row 1. Dc in 5th ch from hook and in 6
next chs, 2 ch, sk 2 chs, dc in next 7 chs.
Rows 2-49. Proceed following the diagram.

Rows 50-87. Work again rows 12-49 of diagram
Rows 88-99 . Work rows 11-1 (in contrary sense)

Use doorstep decreasing
and increasing technique . At the end of row 99, do not cut thread; crochet the
edging
Edge: Sc stitch all around the bookmark (3 sts
in each square side). Join in first st, cut thread.
You can put a tassel at the two ends of runner in this
way:
Tassel: Using a 8" cardboard piece, wrap
thread 40 times around cardboard. Cut thread on a side of cardboard, put 40
strands obtained in the empty Square in first row. Wrap a thread piece 5 times
around tassel, knot and cut. In a similar way prepare a tassel for last row
end.
N.B. Substitute first tr with 4 ch; for a filet
