Size : 6 cm (2.5 inches) x 17 cm (7 inches) tassel
not included.
Material :Pearl
cotton # 8, hook 1.25 mm (Bates steel #9), color red; you can substitute with
Cebelia #20 or equivalent cordonnet thread (but the gauge can slightly vary)
Difficulty: easy
Directions
Start with 14 ch.
Row 1. Dc in 8th ch from hook (7 chs = 2
ch + dc + 2 ch), *ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch* Repeat * to * once more: 3
empty squares.
Rows 2-32. Proceed following the diagram.(If

Use oblique
increasing technique for increasing rows 2-4. Use doorstep decreasing technique for last
row. At the end of row 32, do not cut thread; crochet the edging
Edge: Sc stitch all around the bookmark (2 sts
in each square side). Join in first st, cut thread.
Tassel: Using a 6" cardboard piece, wrap
thread 30 times around cardboard. Cut thread on a side of cardboard, and
distribute the 30 strands obtained in 3 empty squares in first row. Wrap a
thread piece 5 times around tassel, knot and cut.
